All the downloads for my LSI 9265-8i are found here (driver, MegaRAID Storage Manager, and firmware) but these same instructions are likely to help you get your MegaRAID Storage Manager 11. Version working with other LSI adapters, just be sure to download the proper drivers and firmware. This article is really about working around the gotchas just seen in MSM 11.
Yeah, I do hope LSI fixes the actual issue, and I've already reported all of this to LSI support. Detailed walk-throughs below, or take a look at detailed video walk-throughs that also demonstrating how I came to up with these procedures (coming soon). INSTALLED ALREADY but warnings/errors during install were seen: If you already saw the errors but finished the install, then tried to launch the MegaRAID icon and logged in, then noticed it then it got stuck, you probably Googled your way to this article. Don't give up yet! You may still get MSM working, just by: For Windows 2008, just login and Administrator and you're all set, MSM should run despite the errors you saw during install. For Windows 7, just disable UAC (User Access Control) and reboot, and you're all set, MSM should run despite errors you saw during install. FRESH INSTALL: If you follow the detailed instructions in the appropriate section, you should be able to avoid seeing these 2 errors during the MSM installation: MegaRAID Storage Manager v11.
InstallShield Wizard Error Occured while re-creating file for adding configuration. The setup cannot continue. MegaRAID Storage Manager v11. Error Ocuured during closing of Configuration File after appending. The setup cannot continue.

Because the Administrator account is enabled by default, if you login as Administrator (not just an administrative user, but the account actually named Administrator), you will not encounter the install or errors. I am having a problem with the LSI MegaRAID Software Manager software, any version 12.x through 14.x. Under Windows 8.1, using a 'local standalone' installation of the Megaraid manager software, the login screen is not able to authenticate any local user. I suspect this is some interaction with a local security setting on the computer.
Is this a known issue and is there a workaround? This is a very widely used application for RAID hardware controllers, and it is private labeled by IBM and Dell in addition to being available in generic form from LSI direct.
